Agile Hunter: For the purposes of climbing, dropping, jumping and traversing terrain, treat this operative as Size 1.

Whenever this operative performs the Dash action, it can move up to 4" instead of 3". Whenever it jumps, the maximum horizontal distance it can move while jumping is 6" instead of 4".

Ambush Predator: This operative can perform the Charge action while it has a Conceal order, but only if it starts that action in cover. After it finishes that action, change its order to Engage.

Chameleonic Skin: Whenever an operative is shooting this operative, if this operative has a Conceal order and is more than 6" from that operative, this operative is obscured.

Drag: After resolving this attack, if the target was damaged but not incapacitated, you may move them up to 2 inches directly toward this operative.

This move can end within the Lictor's Control Range, but it cannot pass through other operatives or terrain, intentionally cause a Drop, enter dangerous terrain, or end in an illegal position.

Instinctive Withdrawal: The first time this operative has 8 or fewer wounds remaining after an action is resolved, if it isn't incapacitated, place a Stalk marker underneath it, then remove this operative from the killzone. It isn't incapacitated.

While removed from the killzone, this operative cannot be activated or counteract.

In the Ready step of the next Strategy phase, set this operative back up wholly within 6" of its Stalk marker, within 1" of Heavy terrain and more than 3" from enemy operatives. Give it a Conceal order, then remove its Stalk marker.

It returns with the same number of wounds it had when it was removed.

Predatory Follow-Through: Once per activation, whenever this operative incapacitates an enemy operative while fighting with a Scything Talons weapon, after that Fight action ends, if this operative isn't incapacitated and another enemy operative is within its control range, this operative can immediately perform a free Fight action.

For that action, it must use the Scything Talons - Sweep profile. This ability cannot be triggered again during that activation.

Behavior: Stalking Lictor: This NPO stalks vulnerable or isolated enemies from concealment, closing on its prey before committing to the attack.

Preferred Prey: Whenever this Behaviour requires you to select a player operative, select one in the following order of priority:

  1. An isolated and injured operative.
  2. An isolated operative.
  3. An injured operative.
  4. The closest player operative.

An operative is isolated if there are no other player operatives within 3" of it. If more than one operative has the same priority, select the closest one.

When activated, if this operative is within control range of a player operative, or it can Charge its Preferred Prey but cannot do so while it has a Conceal order, or it will perform the Shoot action during that activation, give it an Engage order. Otherwise, give it a Conceal order.

  1. Fight its Preferred Prey.
  2. Charge its Preferred Prey via the shortest possible route, ending in cover from other player operatives if possible.
  3. Shoot its Preferred Prey with Flesh Hooks.
  4. Reposition towards its Preferred Prey, to cover if possible.
  5. Dash towards its Preferred Prey, to cover if possible.

Advanced Retreat Instinct: The first time this operative would be incapacitated, it isn't incapacitated. Instead, place a Stalk marker underneath it, then remove this operative from the killzone.

While removed from the killzone, this operative cannot be activated or counteract.

In the Ready step of the next Strategy phase, set this operative back up wholly within 9" of its Stalk marker, in cover, more than 3" from enemy operatives and with 6 wounds remaining. Give it a Conceal order, then remove its Stalk marker.

This ability can only be used once per battle. If the battle ends while this operative is removed from the killzone, treat it as incapacitated for determining victory conditions.

Apex Hunter: For the purposes of climbing, dropping, jumping and traversing terrain, treat this operative as Size 1.

Whenever this operative performs the Dash action, it can move up to 4" instead of 3". Whenever it jumps, the maximum horizontal distance it can move while jumping is 6" instead of 4".

Fear of the Unseen: Subtract 1 from the Control stat of enemy operatives within 6" of this operative, to a minimum of 0.

Perfect Ambush: This operative can perform the Charge action while it has a Conceal order. After it performs a Fight action during that activation, change its order to Engage.

Perfect Chameleonic Skin: Whenever an operative is shooting this operative, if this operative is more than 6" from that operative, this operative is obscured.

Predatory Momentum: Once per activation, whenever this operative incapacitates an enemy operative while fighting with a Scything Talons weapon, after that action ends, if this operative isn't incapacitated, select one:

  • If another enemy operative is within its control range, this operative can immediately perform a free Fight action against one such operative. For that action, it must use its Scything Talons - Sweep profile.
  • Otherwise, this operative can immediately perform a free Reposition action, but it cannot move more than 4" during that action. It must end that Reposition outside enemy operatives' control ranges.

This ability cannot be triggered again during that activation.

Trait: Duelist: Whenever this operative is fighting or retaliating, you can resolve one of its successes before the normal order. If you do, that success must be used to block.

Behavior: Apex Stalker: DEATHLEAPER: BEHAVIOUR CHANGE Starting Behaviour: STALK Deathleaper can have either the STALK or HUNT Behaviour. When its Behaviour changes during an activation, use its new Behaviour for any remaining action points.

Preferred Prey When selecting a player operative as this NPO's Preferred Prey, select in this order:

  1. Isolated and Injured enemy operative
  2. Isolated enemy operative
  3. Injured enemy operative
  4. Closest enemy operative

A player operative is Isolated if no other player operative is within 3" of it. If multiple operatives have the same priority, select the operative with the fewest wounds remaining, then the closest.

STALK Order: Conceal Deathleaper stalks its Preferred Prey while remaining hidden.

Action Priority

  1. Reposition or Fall Back towards cover and away from player operatives.
  2. Reposition towards its Preferred Prey, ending in cover if possible.
  3. Dash towards its Preferred Prey, ending in cover if possible.

While using this Behaviour, Deathleaper won't voluntarily finish a move within an enemy operative's control range. Change to HUNT

At the end of this activation, if Deathleaper could perform a Charge action that ends within control range of its Preferred Prey, change its Behaviour to HUNT.

HUNT Deathleaper commits to killing its Preferred Prey.

Order If Deathleaper starts this activation within an enemy operative's control range, give it an Engage order. Otherwise, give it a Conceal order.

Action Priority

  1. Fight its Preferred Prey.
  2. Charge its Preferred Prey.
  3. Reposition towards its Preferred Prey.

Its Perfect Ambush ability applies normally when charging with a Conceal order.

Change to STALK

Whenever Deathleaper incapacitates a player operative, resolve Predatory Momentum, then change its Behaviour to STALK. If Deathleaper starts a HUNT activation and cannot Fight or Charge its Preferred Prey, immediately change its Behaviour to STALK and use that Behaviour for the rest of the activation.

Indirect: When selecting a valid target for this weapon, you can select an enemy operative regardless of its order and whether it is visible to this operative, provided that enemy operative is visible from directly above and at least part of its base isn't underneath Vantage terrain. If you select a target in this way, worsen this weapon's Hit stat by 1 for that action. The target can retain cover saves as normal.

Launch Spore Mine (1AP): Place one friendly Spore Mine NPO anywhere on the killzone floor, more than 3" from player operatives. That Spore Mine cannot be activated or counteract during this Turning Point.

There can be no more than 3 Spore Mine NPOs created by this operative in the killzone at once. This operative cannot perform this action and the Shoot action during the same activation.

Living Artillery: Whenever this operative is shooting with its Spore Mine Launcher, if it hasn't moved during that activation, improve the Hit stat of that weapon by 1.
